Our School

Mount Carmel Academy

Mount Carmel Academy (MCA) is a Montessori and Cambridge International School. MCA provides Montessori Preschool programme, Cambridge International Primary Programme (IPP), the Secondary Checkpoint programme and will extend to the IGCSE programme. Mount Carmel Academy consists of three departments. The Preschool (for children aged 18 months to 5 years) Primary school for students aged 5 to 11 years) and the senior School (for students aged 12 to 16 years). Our school and the international curriculums cater largely to students who aspire to live and work as global citizens in a globalized world and achieve an education that is recognized internationally. At Mount Carmel Academy we believe quality education is more than imparting knowledge, it includes developing our students holistically, developing their academic, physical, emotional, social, moral, spiritual and cultural awareness as our school Moto says, “Nurturing Precious Gems for excellence”. Our aim is to mound our students to become high achievers who possess high moral standards, integrity and are valuable citizens of a local and global society. Our teaching faculty consists of qualified professionals that are committed to providing excellent quality education beyond the classroom and strive to develop the whole child. I would like to use this platform to express my appreciation for our hardworking staff led by the Principal Mrs. Lucy Nyasulu, Mr. Mphatso Chirwa the Education Supervisor, Mrs. Nkhwachi Kazembe Head teacher for Lilongwe campus and Mr. Jonathan Phiri Head teacher for Blantyre campus. The commitment and dedication of our Heads of school, teachers, Administration and support staff enables the school to enjoy success in both curriculum and extracurricular activities such as academic remedial classes, sports days, the spelling bee which makes the education experience at Mount Carmel Academy more colourful and students oriented.

Mount Carmel Academy

The Pre-school section is for children 18 months to 5 years. We use the Montessori Curriculum merged with the Cambridge Curriculum. Mount Carmel Academy Montessori class rooms have six learning areas which are Language Arts, Mathematics, Cultural Studies, Sensorial, Practical life and Character Building. We believe every child learns and achieves milestones at their own pace and we specialise on individualised learning.
